“I just want to prove that not all Muslims are extremist nut jobs”
I’m a doctor, I live and work in London. I love the music, the art, the comedy and the restaurants. But most of all I love the people.
What I don’t love is that for many people the word Muslim = terrorist.
By meeting 500 people who share nothing but their first name, I want to show that, whatever the cultural or religious background, we all love much the same things. (Well… that’s the plan!)
For the next 50 days I’ve got a perfect excuse to do what I like best: chat to strangers. The only difference is, this time they will all be called Osama!

“I want to change the way British people look at Islam.”
Before 9/11, the only Osama I knew was my 7-year-old cousin in Pakistan. On that terrible day, another Osama came into my life. I just can’t seem to get rid of him. Violence and misunderstandings have been dragging us all down ever since.
Wanting to show the world what Muslims are really like, I quit my job as a telecoms engineer to become a filmmaker.
Seven years later and I’m going on a journey to discover more about the name that completely changed my world.
